A Tale of Two Miriams: Afrolatin Connections | Qrichi & Ra Mava

This show continues Eck Echo's explorations of links between Latin America and Africa. Some years back, DJ Qrichi stumbled upon a psychedelic record in the Colombian city of Barranquilla titled "La Extraordinaria Myriam Makenwa". This turned out to be a latin funky homage to South African freedom fighter/singer/composer Miriam Makeba. Eck Echo meets Cape Town resident Ra Mava to chat some and then spin some of his beloved Kwaito records collection while we explore different forms of liberations from the African diasporas on selected spots of the Latin continent.
