Starting off as a club night in 2022, Shelter quickly distinguished itself in the local scene as a platform that consistently showcases the most forward-thinking electronic music coming from marginalised groups and emergent scenes across the globe. Focusing on the strains of contemporary electronic music that possess rich cultural heritages and traditional roots, Shelter acts as a meeting point where these contrasting musical worlds can intersect and fill in the lacunae found in-between them.

Shelter’s unique creative vision has been displayed in their visual curation and transformation of Tallinn’s venues, collaborating with local artists to shape conventional club spaces into holistic audio-visual experiences that transcend their environment. Through melding performance art and otherworldly decoration informed by local folklore into their club nights, they construct immersive alternate worlds that simultaneously reflect on and provide refuge from a reality that is growing ever harsher and overwhelming
