Cultural Cadence | Moehecan & Erick Nidal

With Moehecan and Erick Nidal

Spring is here and this episode marks 1 year of Cultural Cadence at Refuge Worldwide.

We culminate the year with a very special guest, Erick Nidal. He is a Bangkok & NY-based DJ and international relations specialist from Chicago with a decades-long passion for deep & soulful music.

Erick Nidal’s life and curiosity has afforded him a unique immersion in global rhythms. Erick was born and raised to a Colombian-born Palestinian mother, and Danish-Greek father whose love of music exposed him to house, soul, jazz, funk, salsa, Palestinian folk zaffa, alternative, and numerous other global sounds.

With almost a decade in diplomacy and humanitarian affairs, including four years at the United Nations in NYC. His career & music both intersect at a point of internationalism that informs his worldview and curation.

We wrap-up a year of talks by returning to the start point of the imperial boomerang. Highlighting & drawing parallel's to the oppressions faced by Palestinians & Black Americans through various track selections, personal stories & Palestinian-American historical anecdotes.
