“A Journey to Beni-Suef” takes you on a daily journey through the Egyptian countryside to the place where I studied international law. Every morning, as my colleagues and I traveled, I felt a deep sense of security looking out over these landscapes. Black tea, a simple sandwich and the bittersweet taste of humble satisfaction marked those mornings, anchoring us in the present moment. Surrounded by familiar sounds and smells, we found calm, courage and connection in the simplicity of our shared journey.
