The early to mid 00s marked a shift from the glitz and glamour of UK Garage into the darker grittier tones that soon formed Grime. The new wave of MCs favoured a street narrative over the party focused champagne bubbling lyrics of their predecessors. There were no iPhones, no instagram but instead bluetooth as modern technology of this era. It was through Bluetooth that people shared tracks that shaped the soundtrack for many growing up in Britain - especially London and its surrounding areas.
