RILLA

Born in Fukuoka city, Japan, RILLA started DJing hip hop after relocating to Tokyo in 1997. He landed a job as a record buyer at the legendary Cisco Record Shop in Shibuya in 2002, and was put in charge of buying the latest breakbeats, electronica, d’n’b and later dubstep. As a DJ, he hosted events such as GUERILLA and ALMADELLA in local clubs, inviting artists such as Shackleton, Peverelist and Scuba to play in Japan for the first time. Through playing roughly 50 gigs a year, he established his own style incorporating techno, house and bass music. He is currently based in Kyoto.
