Melih Sarigöl

Melih Sarıgöl was born in 1980 in İstanbul, living currently in Berlin. He studied mechanical engineering at METU, where he later earned his master's degree in acoustics and vibration. During his university years, he dealt with photography, video, and animation film and he was active in “karahaber”, one of the first video activist groups in Turkey. After working in the field as an engineer, he was accepted for a second master's study on sound engineering design at ITU MIAM between 2012 and 2014. After graduating, he has been working in various independent documentary, film, and video projects as a sound recordist and designer. He is using his knowledge of sound on his music project “FezayaFirar” which is based on electronic improvisation and has been attending various festivals around Europe with it. Besides that, he has been creating sound installations for various art exhibitions since 2018.
