LMGM

Luis Manuel Garcia Mispreta aka LMGM (he/him) researches, writes and teaches about popular music through an ethnographic lens. His research focuses on electronic dance music scenes, affect/feeling, queer belonging, musical activism, creative industries and musical migration. He has written about “techno tourism” in Berlin, and he is a member and resident DJ of Berlin’s queer intersectional rave collective, Room4Resistance (https://room4resistance.net). He is also an Associate Professor in Ethnomusicology and Popular Music Studies at the University of Birmingham (UK), with previous appointments at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development (Berlin, DE) and the University of Groningen (NL).
