Kutmah

DJ Kutmah is an artist known for his contributions to the underground ‘’beatscene’’ in Los Angeles where he was a significant figure in shaping it’s sound. He has gained recognition for his eclectic & genre-bending mixes, often incorporating left-field hip-hop, electronic and experimental music. Kutmah started off playing at punk venues and art galleries before graduating to hip-hop clubs where the focus was on the dance floor.

In 2004 he started L.A’s first instrumental beat night called Sketchbook which was a breeding ground for the cities growing beat community. It was the place where you could hear unreleased Flying Lotus and RAS G demo’s years before they would be released.

Since leaving Los Angeles in 2010 Kutmah has toured Europe with Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Cinematic Orchestra, Badbadnotgood and has played shows with MF DOOM, Madlib, Sonic Youth, and even Yoko Ono.
