Iman Gele

Iman Gele is a dancer, choreographer, host, and organiser with East African roots living in Berlin, Germany. Her work and experience are particularly influenced by techniques and methods of hip-hop, krump, and house dance styles. She is a member and co-founder of the women's collective Walashé and the Krump collective NDA BIVINI. In addition to being part of the underground dance and art scene, Iman is also gaining experience in dance theatre with classical artists* and a wide variety of contemporary choreographers, including her own piece developments, which were shown, for example, at the Tanz im August Festival Berlin 2020-2022 and in Sweden at Malmö Dance Week 2023. This year Iman founded another event series "Green Room" in cooperation with the Volksbühne Berlin, which brings together artists of all art forms.
