Deekapz is a duo of producers from São Paulo who seek to combine influences from global electronic club music - global bass - with the background of brazilian funk beats.
With a loyal audience outside Brazil, the DJ duo embarked on their fourth European tour in 2023, visiting France, the UK, Ireland and Spain, making a total of 9 countries visited by the duo and 20 shows across the continent. During 2020 and 2021, the duo focused on authorial releases with 4 EPs: Jewel Gems, Ensaio Sobre Você, Poly and Superfunk, which were featured in the press and on platforms such as Complex, The Fader, Bandcamp, Essence, Resident Advisor and Okayplayer, as well as being played on established radio stations such as BBC1Xtra, BBC6 Radio, KCRW (Los Angeles) and KEXP (Seattle).
In Brazil, Deekapz has become a prestigious name for festivals. From Lollapalooza to Primavera Sound São Paulo 2022. From Coala to The Town. From Festival Selvagem to the Turá Festival, as well as the debut edition of the Extrapunk Extrafunk Festival, promoted by the rapper Black Alien.
With Deekapz's participation in the Lollapalooza 2023 line-up, the list of performances is growing and, as a result, the authorial beats and mixes marked by sharp technique are reverberating in an ever-growing audience, with different tastes and references, but who find in the duo's presentation the harmony between mainstream hits and what is most latent in the underground scene.
Their contributions to brazilian artists include various interpretations of Brazil's sonic identity. Deekapz has signed tracks with BK', Kevin o Chris, Anitta, Karol Conká, Pabllo Vittar, Criolo, Tropkillaz, Luisa Sonza, Rubel, Rincon Sapiência, among others. Within international studios, Deekapz has signed productions with big names such as Sango (Soulection), Kojey Radical, Jael, Jarreau Vandal and Axwell Ingrosso.
Today, the duo seeks to invest in parties that make electronic music more accessible and powerful in Brazil. 0800 is a great example of this movement: a free party promoted by Deekapz in the streets of downtown São Paulo. A success since its first edition, 0800 brings together - with its own curators - established DJs and newcomers for an afternoon of music in the street. The party is also a way of paying homage to baile funk culture and its historic initiative to democratize culture, even though it is still very stigmatized.
In Brazil and around the world, Deekapz is already synonymous with a unique sound identity and a powerful dance floor, both in its sets and in its productions.
