chalie (Berlin based, they/he) is a multidisciplinary artist with an architecture (MA, Nantes) and a classical music/jazz background. Their artistic practice spans music, film, text and painting. Their approach focuses on storytelling through magic realism, attention to textures and senses, with a particular focus on the social, spatial and sonic poetics of the in-between. They are active as session and performance violinist. chalie is engaged in the performance world and event scene with an intention on disability accessibilities and the radical empathy movement. They are part of the Refuge Worldwide radio community, co-organised the Sonic Recharge fundraiser, curated the Storytelling Time event and assisting different ongoing community base projects. David Meng-Chuen Chen (artist name Cavid Dhen) is an interdisciplinary researcher and performer. Cavid Dhen plays woodwinds, primarily saxophone but also clarinet and self-made instruments. Their musical practice revolves around the sounds of magical realism and traditional songs, transformed through process-based improvisation, extended performance techniques, and electroacoustic processing, while colluding with human and more-than-human collaborators.
