Shaw Cain

Shaw Cain aka “Black Popstar” is carving a lane of their own with energetic, genre-bending, dance music layered with soulfully rich vocals; the result is a refreshing yet nostalgic sound for lovers of house, techno, and pop. Shaw Cain is heavily inspired by the rich history of their hometown of Detroit. Shaw Cain seeks to use their talents to fill a void that pop entertainment is missing. Following the release of their debut EP, Black Popstar, Shaw Cain performed alongside Big Freedia on the Big Diva Energy tour and in Brooklyn at the popular dance club NOWADAYS. As they prepare to release new music, they hope that by living unapologetically with boundless self-expression, young queer people of color will feel empowered to embrace their truth and take up space.
