Originally from Cergy, Bamao Yendé has quickly established himself as one of the most striking figures in the French club scene. He began his journey in 2014 as part of the Ygrk Club collective, where he explored a sonic universe in constant evolution. In 2018, he founded Boukan Records, a platform for channeling the most innovative musical energies, and that same year formed the trio Nyoko Bokbaë with Le Diouck and Boyfall. Together, they released the VT ZOOK EP in collaboration with Rad Cartier, marking a significant milestone for the collective.
In 2020, Bamao reunited with Le Diouck to launch 55 Degrees, a duo blending afrobeat, UK garage, and deconstructed club sounds. This explosive fusion, quickly recognised by outlets like ARTE and Pan-African Music, lit up dancefloors and cemented Bamao’s reputation as a bold and instinctive creator. His debut album, RDV DISCOTECA, further asserted his sonic identity, offering a fresh take on club music shaped by influences from bass music, Afro-Caribbean, and South American rhythms.
In 2024, Bamao unveiled Polizia Romantico, a project that reveals a more introspective and cinematic side to his musical universe. Built on mesmerising synths and subdued rhythms, Polizia Romantico weaves a rich atmosphere of melancholy and escapism, diving into dreamlike depths. This project adds a new dimension to his repertoire, showcasing his ability to merge intensity with delicacy, where club culture meets a subtly poetic realm.
